Most people are aware of Owen Jenkins tragic story. His brave family are setting up a charity in Owens name ‘HERO7’ this is being set up to give money back into the community that have helped the family and continue to do so since Owens passing. They will be putting money into helping local childrens causes including the rugby club Owen played with for many years, Nottingham Casuals minis and juniors.

I will be taking part in three different runs throught out the year. The first being X runner on the 24th March in Derby, the second is the inflatable 5k run on the 14th July at the Nottingham race course The final I will be completing is the survival of the fittest on the 6th October at Holme Pierrepont.

Also, aswell of the various runs I am doing this year I have also committed to the Brighton 2019 Marathon which will take place on Sunday 14th April. Although on this particular event I am not looking for sponsors, I have however already been given permission by Nicola and Gary to run for HERO7 which will be a huge honour. This will be my biggest challenge to date but it’s all for an amazing cause, hopefully people will see the distinct purple and realise the selfless act that Owen did on that day!
