Holly loves life and has always been healthy and happy. She has lots of friends and is a pleasure to have as a daughter. She is the youngest of 3 girls and is 14 years old. Holly has always done well at school although has had to work hard to achieve good results. She has often received rewards for 100% attendance and we are very proud of her. Then she started to suffer from reoccurring bouts of tonsillitis which would last for weeks and make her really ill. She would take longer and longer to recover and was missing more and more school. This resulted in a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and this now means that she is restricted to 2 hours per day at school for 4 days a week as she can not physically manage any more than this. Most weeks this may even be too much. We have to manage her activity carefully and her mood can be somber and her social activity very restricted. She has had 8 bouts of Tonsillitis in the past year ans missed a whole term of school after reoccurring episodes within a very short space of time. This makes her Chronic fatigue symptoms worse and her recovery much slower. We have been advised by our GP and her Specialist that this operation should help her recovery and will mean she can get back to school which is what she really wants. She misses her friends so much and also missing her studies causes her so much anxiety that she finds it hard to cope. She has gone from being a confident and outgoing girl to an anxious and withdrawn girl who worries all the time and all she wants is to get better and go back to school which is not much to ask. It breaks our heart to see her upset and as the NHS refuse to help her financially we have to do what we can before her GCSE year. So we are asking for help to pay for this operation to allow Holly to get back to school, catch up with her studies and make her happy again.
