It’s at this time of year the majority of us finish work and can‘t wait to get home and have a nice hearty meal, snuggle up infront of the fire and keep warm and dry with our loved ones.

That is for the majority! As, unfortunately, there are many people accross the UK, and not too far from where we live, who are unable to go home to their families and snuggle up infront of the fire on these bitter cold evenings. There are many people, who I’m sure you have seen, on a daily basis, sleeping rough, on the streets of Huddersfield. With little food or fluids in their bodies, cold or wer blankets and no money, we can only imagine how difficult it must be to sleep out, on the streets at any time of the year, let alone during winter.

It was reported by the Huddersfield Examiner, on the 8th November this year that there is an estimated 206 people sleeping rough in Huddersfield at present, and that is only an estimation. In my opinion thats 206 people too many!!!

So, here‘s my mission!

I’d like to try and raise as much money as possible, to provide food, hot drinks, blankets, warm clothes... ANYTHING that could help these people survive through this winter! I aim to raise funds and spend my days off work where possible distributing any goods and food I can get my hands on to people I come accross who are out in the cold for long periods of time!
