Homelessness is an increasing problem on our streets, we aim to ease some of the struggles homeless people face by generating ‘care packs’. All of the money raised will go towards producing these packs that will contain essential items such as food, toiletries, sanitary items and warm clothing. We also wish to produce some ‘doggy bags’ which will have pet products in them for any homeless people with dogs.

I always find it amazing when people manage to be generous and selfless in a time where they have nothing. I’ve handed food out to homeless people in the past, one night I had two sandwiches left to give and offered both to one man. He took one and politetly declined the other and told me to find somebody else to give it to as “they would need it more than he did”. After starving, in the freezing cold for however long, he still refused to take both. I’ve even had one man cry to me just because I gave him food and a drink, something that we take for granted every single day.

Homelessness isn‘t getting any better... one in every 200 people in the UK are homeless. In England‘s worst hit areas one in every twenty-five people are homeless. In a recent survay more than half (54%) of people admitted to doing nothing when they see a homeless person in the street.

This is why I feel it is important that we, as a community, aim to solve this problem, or at the very least try to help the people who find themselves in these situations. So now is your chance to help, all money raised will go towards the care packs and any donations will be greatly appreciated.
