Weʼve raised £1,075 to LARCC Cancer Support Sanctuary in County Westmeath and Mullingar Hospital

    Dublin, Ireland
Funded on Thursday, 28th September 2017

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

No man likes to let down his father-in-law; however, I fear he will again question his daughter's life choice as I have agreed to participate in the Ireland Coast-to-Coast Cycle for Cancer Care event he has organised on September 9th-10th.

30 cyclists (actually 29 cyclists and me) will endeavor to make the 270 km trip from Galway to Dublin to raise much needed funds to support people coping with cancer. The fundraising efforts are focused on two targets:

    1. LARCC Cancer Support Sanctuary in County Westmeath Ireland, which provides therapies and treatments to cancer sufferers on a daily basis. See: http://cancersupport.ie

    2. Completion of the MRI scanner in Mullingar Hospital

As many of you know, my mother-in-law Mary is bravely facing the challenge of cancer; with LARCC in particular providing invaluable support in regards to the emotional and psychological needs in the aftermath of a cancer diagnosis.

Your donations will be very gratefully received. I already have £200 in donations, so I am seeking to increase this to £500. Please note that both LARCC and Friends of the Regional Hospital Mullingar are registered charities in Ireland (No: 14959 and No: 9956 respectively); however, this is not recognised when raising online monies from the UK (hence the crowdfunding website).

For more details on the event, see the link below

    http://cancersupport.ie/event/coast-2-coast/

(Note: the suggested 8am-5pm timeframe is obviously for people who actually cycle regularly- frankly I am just hoping that I finish when it is still light!)
