Park Mobility CIC is a not for profit community social enterprise that was set up by members of our community who wanted to empower people with restricted mobility to access their local park and green spaces without any barriers by providing free use of electric mobility scooters.

We noticed on a summer’s day some of the barriers people are faced with gaining access and roaming in our parks and open spaces with restricted mobility. Having a background in social care we engaged in conversation listening how people take for granted going to the park and being able to access most places on and off the pathways, spending time with family and friends in the park and being empowered to do so with confidence. We also heard how the member of our community didn’t want to burden his carer/family member to take him there as he felt it was too much of a burden .

Our service will offer young people facing challenges the opportunity of work experience in service delivery, risk assessing the path ways with experienced member of our team, supporting service users also enhancing communication skills…..
