I NEED YOUR HELP TO SUPPORT A POOR SCHOOL WITH TEXT BOOKS AND LEARNING MATERIALS, FOR JANUARY 2018. $6000 WILL PROVIDE TEXTBOOKS FOR WHOLE SCHOOL. SADLY, IN THIS RAGING POLITICAL CLIMATE THE CHILDREN ARE FORGOTTEN!!!!

WHAT WOULD A RURAL ZIMBABWEAN CHILD WANT FOR 2017 XMAS? DEFINITELY NOT TOYS OR XBOX BUT SIMPLY TEXTBOOKS, WRITING BOOKS, SIMPLE LEARNING MATERIALS (PENCILS AND WRITING BOOKS) AND SCHOOL FEES

During August 2017, I promised SELF to do some good deeds for some poor people in rural Africa. I chose a school in my village in Hwedza, a rural area of Zimbabwe where most people live on less than $2 per day. Initially I decided to help them with something they could all benefit so I asked my friends to help me support the school with materials to build basic toilets for the teachers and pupils. I wanted to see that every penny went into the project, not for labour as I strongly believe in giving a fishing rod not the fish /meal. I asked the school to provide all the labour required (teachers / parents / community people) and I provided all the building materials. To my pleasure they completed the toilet project within 15 days and achieved 6 basic hole- in-the-ground toilets (3 males and 3 females) and 3 shower rooms.

End of August, I visited the school to ensure all work was truly completed and take some pictures to show my supporters in UK. I was very impressed and compelled to help them again. While at the school, the parents & teachers told me some desperate stories about their lack of simple textbooks. Each class has very little textbooks, the pupils must share 6 -8 kids per text book - see pictures. In some classes its worse….. they have 3 books for the whole class of 40 kids.

Having seen the children sharing 8 children to a text book, I can only imagine that sharing 4 children to a textbook would be a pleasure beyond 2017 Xmas. The school has worked it out that $6000 would buy enough textbooks for all classes at the school. I would like to raise this amount but if I don’t raise the full amount I will still be pleased to reduce the book sharing rate to 3 /4 kids per textbooks.

I just wonder how much smiles and happiness such a gesture would deliver to the school pupils and teachers? I would like to ask you and my friends and world friends for a small donation towards this fundraising textbook project. I would ensure successful delivery of the text books at the start of term 1 in January 2018 and be pleased to share the stories when this project is delivered . My appreciative smiley friends in Hwedza will thank you so much for the rest of their lives.

I am available share with you any evidence of my trustworthy character, evidence of the toilet project and also the football kits provided to 15 poor schools in the area. I am not too proud to beg for this worthy cause, and hope you can join me on this journey.
