Sonny is a young lad whom i have known for many years, he has had at times a very difficult life through his changing health needs.

Sonny is an Amazing young lad with so much to offer to those around him, he is however in need of some further help and assistance.

During my time with Sonny i have been fortunate enough to share some really special times with him, he leads an amazing life and has a lust for adventure - he just needs a bit more help than others, this does not stop him though ! But all the exciting things we do together is only part of it, some of my most treasured times are when we can sit together and read storys, play games, you know normal stuff- i however feel very priviliged to be able to share these with Sonny.

He lives at home with his parents and three siblings, a very busy and lively house, he currently has his bedroom upstairs. Due to Sonnys health needs he is unable to walk or move independantly, so he gets carried up and down the stairs, he is getting heavier ! He also uses a ventilator to help him breath which obviously has to be carried with him. This is becoming difficult to do safely.

Sonny recieves round the clock care to meet his needs and to ensure he stays in good health.

He needs a room downstairs to meet his current and changing health needs in the future - this will include a bathroom which is suitable for his use.

The family are eligible for a grant from the local authority but this does not cover all the costs associated for a room to meet his needs now, what he needs is a room suitable for his changing health needs today and in the future-so here we are! The total needed for the family is in excess of £30,000 on top of the grant they are eligible for. Our target is much less than that.....however if we can smash it that would be amazing !

If for any amazing reason we are able to raise all the funds required and have money left over we would like to use it directly for Sonny to buy adapted toys, equipment and communication aids to enable Sonny to have an enhanched quality of life. That however depends on how generous people are !

We are currently building a soapbox and are taking part in the Portishead SoapBox race on July 15 to help raise the profile of his campaign. Who knows if it doesnt break.... Redbull soapbox racing next!
