After a very brave battle against lung cancer, unfortunately my mum passed away a few weeks ago. During her final weeks she was looked after amazingly well whilst being cared for on the palliative care ward at Wansbeck General Hospital.

The wonderful staff helped ensure that my mum was cared for with great compassion and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped make what was a horrible and difficult time as bearable as possible.

As I am taking on the Man v Coast Rat Race challenge I thought this would be a great opportunity to raise some money to help them to continue to provide such fantastic care to their patients and their families. As devestated as we all are it is great to try and do something positive in my mum’s memory.
