Story
Mission
In recent years ICSN has raised funds for various charitable organisations that do crucial work in Igbo land such as Amaudo, Sickle Cell and Young Stroke Survivors, Amurt and the Elly Eleanor Foundation. Moving forward, ICSN would like contribute to the empowerment of communities back home through the Udara Outreach Programme.
The funds raised through our fundraising efforts in the UK will go towards the purchase of resources and to provide financial support for motherless baby units, orphanages, local hospitals for mental health and for childbirth, schools, local communities and holding career workshops. Donations will also go towards shelter and transportation within Nigeria for those travelling out to Nigeria in November.
ICSN has seen a growing desire in Igbos' living in the diaspora to visit home and reconnect with their roots, give back and experience Igbo culture first hand. There is no better time to do this than the present.
ICSN’s Udara Outreach Programmes overarching aims and objectives are to:
1. To assist local community projects through a combination of financial and manpower efforts in order to help them further along their work to better the Igbo community in Nigeria.
2. Provide a means for young Igbo professionals in the diaspora to support programmes back home.
3. Enable Young Igbo Professionals to visit Nigeria more often to reconnect and experience their culture first hand.
Tickets are booked and we are ready to go. It's not too late to join us though - please email admin@icsn.co.uk if you would like to join us for the trip. If you have a charity in mind that we can support, whilst on our visit to Nigeria, then please do fill in this form to NOMINATE A CHARITY and we will be in touch.
In 2019 we plan to pilot various programs that support the aims and objectives of Udara. The first one being "Run this May" a 5K run in Finsbury park, London on 11th May 2019 and the second Event will be Iri Ji Yam Auction on - 28th September 2019.
For more information, if you would like to take part in the run/jog/walk, you can register now Via EVENTBRITE.
