Story
In August 2018, I hope to go out to Kenya with a small team to build beehive fences as part of the University of Exeter's Bee Elephant Enterprise Project.
The Project supports The Elephant and Bees Project (a part of Save The Elephants, UK registered charity number 1118804)
As elephants are naturally afraid of bees, they are deterred from trampling crops which frequently leads to revenge killings.
We will also teach the local community to build the fences, and how to harvest the "Elephant Friendly Honey" to sell.
The last trip to Kenya in 2016 was a success - one farmer had his crops repeatedly trampled, and could only afford to send his son, not his daughter, to school. After the installation of the beehive fences, the damage caused by elephants was stopped, and he can now afford to send both children! Please help us to make more success stories like these.
Any money you donate will be very greatly appreciated, and all will go to the B.E.E Project.
Thank you!
