Chris suddenly passed away on Wednesday 14th September following a heart attack, aged just 52 years.

I know I speak for everyone when I say he will be sorely missed. He was a great man, a true gentleman, who would do anything to help his friends and family - even strangers. He was one of life's good guys.

We're all still in complete shock and not sure what to do at this time, but a number of Chris's friends from the Royal Air Force have mentioned that they would like to place a memorial of some sort for him somewhere in the RAF - perhaps RAF Fylingdales where Chris was based for the best part of his last 10 years in the forces.

The RAF was a big part of his life, having served for 24 years from the age of 16. He was immensely proud of his service and I'm sure he would be honoured to receive something like this - as I'm sure too that his friends in the forces would be honoured to place it. Moreover, it would be good for his two young children, Charlotte and Luke, to have something they could visit when they are older to see how well-loved and respected their father was and learn all about his RAF days.

I have been asked to set up this page to enable Chris's friends to collect funds towards such a memorial for him, and also for somewhere for people to leave messages and tributes for Chris and his family.

If there is any money left over after the purchase of a fitting memorial, it will be be donated to a charity in Chris's name.
