Weʼre raising £10,000 to help fund an innovative mental wellness charity

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Mental illness is a big topic right now.

However it seems that the big focus is on treating people who are already in crisis, not so much on preventing people from reaching their breaking point in the first place.

My goal is to set up a charity that will educate and facilitate listening. The charity will be tech focussed and based on the principles of mindfulness.

I'm extremely passionate about mental wellness, particularly the importance of feeling heard. This stems from difficulties experienced in adolescence, I feel that I hit rock bottom at 20 years' old and this resulted in me making some destructive life choices.

I did not receive the support that I needed at this difficult stage in my life. Part of this was due to my lack of communication skills; I was unable to effectively express how I was feeling to both others and myself.

Today, I absolutely enjoy life and it devastates me to think that I was once so very depressed.

I'm extremely passionate about preventing people from reaching their crisis point and strongly feel that allowing people to feel truly heard plays a big part in mental wellness.

The money I'm hoping to raise will be spent on building a digital platform, structuring the charity (to be registered shortly) and training volunteers.

Any funds that you can spare for this important and much needed cause would be enormously appreciated.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.

If you are interested in being involved in the pilot campaign, soon to be taking place, please do get in touch.
