As everyone knows, the Caribbean has been hit hard during hurricane season. Puerto Rico has also suffered devastating destruction. Our colleague Ana, who's worked for Crew & Concierge for years, has family that are in the small village of Isabela with no water, no electricity and no sign of help.

Aid workers and charities have been fantastic in supplying the main cities including San Juan. However, from this point nothing is getting out to the small holdings all around the island. Isabela is two and a half hours drive from the City - Ana's family had to take shifts queuing for just 10 dollars of fuel for 59 hours. This amount still isn't enough to get anyone very far.

The death toll has been huge - the media are downplaying the numbers. In Ana's village alone the hospital was closed, people were unable to get the lifesaving treatments necessary to survive so have passed away since the first Hurricane hit. There's no water and little food - they're making do with what they can. Children are advised to go out and scavenge, no one has seen clean water in weeks.

Ana has already poured a lot of her personal money into helping those she can. We have a personal contact on the ground who works with the church to distribute what they have. Please, if you have anything to spare it will go a long long way to getting these people back on their feet.
