Isla McGuinness was born in July 2012 with unexpected life long complications. She has an undiagnosed genetic condition so family do not know what her future holds. She was born with a hole in her heart, doesn't talk, has global developmental delay and is fed via a tummy PEG. She has just started walking which gives the family hope for the future. Isla has had several stomach surgeries already, one to fold her stomach over to prevent her constant sickness. At a recent cardiac appointment further problems were discovered to do with her heart where her aorta is the size of an adults. If this is not reduced her aorta is at high risk of rupturing which would have dire consequences. Isla faces the prospect of open heart surgery if medication does not reduce the growth rate.

Isla is now too big for a high street travel cot. Family have purchased all available on the market but she is too long and too heavy. The family have found a specialist travel bed called an UrZone which is fully portable, indestructible (she eats EVERYTHING!!!) and totally safe for her needs. Isla would be zipped into the bed and unable to escape. Family have trialled Isla in the bed and she loved it. It is the size of a single bed so will see Isla through to an adult. This will allow Isla to have respite with family and friends and also for the family to go away for well deserved holidays.

Unfortunately the bed comes at a huge cost of £4000 which Isla's family are unable to afford on their own having only just finished huge home adaptions for her needs.

Isla is a gorgeous little girl who loves books and playing with her big brother Oscar. Her favourite TV shows are Peppa Pig and The Chase! The family have recently discovered that Isla loves the beach and dipping her toes into the sea. The family would love to be able to take her away to the seaside this summer.
