Story
Japan is an island nation, just like Britain - but a major difference is they have no equivalent to the RNLI. This summer I will volunteer to establish a Lifeboat service in Japan with the NGO Atlantic Pacific, which leads the sector.
My role will be to teach volunteers to drive power boats, and leave them with the skills to run the station. The project will last for four weeks, and the work will be invaluable in terms of both rebuilding the community after the 2011 tsunami and providing vital safety cover for the area surrounding Kamaishi, North East Japan.
Please take the opportunity to be part of the project, and donate what you can; every contribution helps.
