Story
Tuck and I are running a half marathon each in September to try to raise funds for the Leominster Meeting Centre. We would've liked to do a marathon each but as most of you know we're not quite as fit as we'd like..... (well, Tuck isn't anyway, bless him). I will be running the Bristol Half on Sept 17th, and Tuck will be running the Worcester Half on the same day. So it's basically a marathon...
The Meeting Centre is a space for people living with Dementia and their loved ones to socialise, enjoy fun and creative activities, and receive vital personalised support and information.
The centre was originally set up as a pilot scheme by Alzheimer's Society, Hereford council and the Worcester University, but the charity has now confirmed that there is no long-term statutory funding in place. The centre is now relying on the local community and potential alternative supporters or funders to keep running beyond August.
Any support you can offer is hugely appreciated. This is such an important and valuable place, and is a cause particularly close to our hearts.
Thanks in advance! xx
