I am taking part in the Middlesbrough 10k On 3rd September 2017, alongside representatives from TIBS football club, to raise funds for an ex-player Jacob Dinsdale, whose older brother Josh played for TIBS for 8 years and his younger brother Jack currently plays for our Under 10s Yellow Team and also the Children's Ward at the RVI.

Jacob was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disorder earlier this year, which led him to undergo a splenectomy in Feb 2017. However this procedure did not aleviate his prognosis and has now endured an intense period of chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant. This procedure means Jacob will spend upto 3 months in isolation in Newcastle's RVI hospital.
