Our 8 year old son Jack is wanting to see if he can raise at least £1000 to help children who have been affected by covid 19 including those who have lost parents, guardians, carer's, family members or friends get through the grief of it all and to be able to put money towards them getting the support and help they need through the very tough time & to try to give back some happiness. His sister chloe has been fundraising herself to get money to go towards a memorial tree in memory of her form tutor Miss Emma Clarke as she sadly passed away after contracting Covid19. Jack has seen how her death has affected chloe and lots of people around the school so he wants to be able to achieve some sort of support whether it be someone to talk to, activities they could take time out to do or for them also to be able to plant a memorial tree. Jack himself is a very anxious child and has his own struggles with anxiety and being on the autism spectrum he always has to know who what why where and when and obviously due to Corona and the whole lockdown process we can not give him them answers, he also has severe asthma so is a sheltered individual too so for him to throw himself into this is amazing. Obviously we have to go into this with eyes wide open and have to explain to him that having a goal of £1000 to reach may not be possible as we dont want him all anxious and feel like he hasn't done enough, his response is " IF PEOPLE GIVE 1 PENNY THAT IS 1 MORE PENNY THAN WE STARTED WITH". He is 100% right and has an amazing outlook on this. We just want to say thank you all for any help you put his way xxx
