Weʼve raised £2,265 to Raise awareness for DIPG (a highly rare brain tumour that affects predominately children under 10 years old) for my nephew Jack Acton.

Funded on Wednesday, 15th February 2017

    Story

After already raising £1155 in the first month (then my page ran out of time)...this is my second page...

As some of you may know, my 4-year-old nephew and godson, Jack, has a rare form of brain tumour known as DIPG.

Jack was diagnosed with this just before his 4th birthday and as of yet there is no cure. This was obviously devastating for my family, as it has been for many others around the world that have been affected by it.
I am hoping to raise awareness and hopefully money for the cause by creating my own yearlong charity event. The idea is that I will be doing a different event every month that others can perhaps join in too, in order to raise further awareness.

Over the next year I will be completing at least one event per month. Some will be very tough, especially if you've seen me swim or know how much I like a drink!! I have arranged events for the first 7 months and will be updating the fundraising events throughout the year:

Swimming and sit-up September- a total swim of 10km (200 lengths of an Olympic swimming pool) As well as doing 100 sit ups a day for 30 days- COMPLETE
Off in October– waxing of legs
    November Movember
    December charity matches
    Dry January!!!!
    Fillies February- Race night
10k March – with help of some friends we will be sorting a 10km or 5km run or walk along the Corniche in Doha.
    Armchair April- film / series-a-thon

On top of these events I will be running 1 mile a day (365 miles) for the whole year.

I hope to get as many people as possible involved with different events and raise money for research into DIPG, The Christie hospital which were fantastic with Jack and other cancer and children's charities.

The more awareness of DIPG the better, and the more shares of events that I or we do then that would be brilliant!
Thanks for reading about the cause and hopefully, I will Jack and everyone else proud.
