We have a plan... our plan is to bring our lovely town together to enjoy an afternoon in the park. We are hoping to get the two local area pubs involved, anyone wanting to come along to sell food, face paints, please do get in touch, we will ask for a small donation for our chosen charity, which is Helping Hands in Hitchin. They do amazing work to support disabled to still get out and about. So the money we are hoping to raise could really help them to continue in the amazing work they all do. We are a beautiful and diverse town but with all the sadness that has happened of late it's made me reflect on how many are in need of support within our local community. It would be a chance for old and young to come together, meet new people within our area.
Our date is Saturday 12th August 2017 in Bancroft Park 12 noon - 5 pm.
We have lots of local bands performing on the day... We have a Mad Hatters Tea and Cake stall selling delicious cakes that have been kindly donated by lots of local artisan bakers, we have street stalls selling their food a Raffle and a Tombola stall. We are holding a Tug of War contest ( Please put your name down on the day), kart fits are now joining us for the day and the local fire service will be putting in an appearance for us to, with lots more happening on the day and all the proceeds from the day go to the local charity.

We have in the evening The Venue Public House in Hitchin (right opposite the park) hosting an after party party ! with a great disco "Pounds for Sounds" well into the evening. Thank you to them for all their kind help.

We would like to invite elderly residents from local elderly care homes to join in with our tea party on the day.
Any advice and help on how we go about this would be most appreciated.
Also if you would like to come along and volunteer on the day that would be great too.
