Jackson was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia on Friday the 4th of may 2018. The treatment is very intensive and consists of 6 months of intensive chemotherapy followed by 3 years of outpatient appointment and maintenance to ensure the leukaemia doesn't return. Jackson is expected to be very unwell during this time, with many trips to the hospital and likely many inpatient admission due to infection. The chemotherapy treatment is very debilitating and children will experience fatigue, weakness, weight loss, risk of infection and emotional struggle as the treatment impacts on his little life. He has a central line insitu which is used to administer chemotherapy. This line must be protected and is at risk of being moved or dislodged, this is in turn having an impact on his ability to move around his environment.
