Weʼve raised £2,755 to help fund medical costs for surgeries after a fatal bus accident that left those who survived in ICU

    Story

On 25May2018 my sister and 4 members of her family were travelling from Lira (Northern Uganda) to Kampala (capital city) from a holiday by Coach (bus). Unfortunately, there was a fatal accident at Kiryandongo and most people on the Coach did not survive and the few who did sustained life threating injuries and are still under intensive care.

My sister Jackie lost one of her sons (Norman) and she and 3 members of her family are currently fighting for their lives and requires immediate surgery on their multiple fractures at Nsambya hospital in Uganda. The hospital requires a deposit of about £7,000 to start surgeries and the total cost of treatment could rise to over £10,000 for all of them. We are currently fundraising for this cause so any support is much appreciated.

I wanted to take time to share with you the latest update on the injured. Jackie has been transferred from the ICU to the ward following surgeries. This is really a positive progress. She is now able to eat, drink and talk. Lauryn, Malcom and Nathan have all improved and have now been discharged from the hospital ward but will continue with outpatient treatment for the next couple of weeks. Thanks again for your generosity and support.

Jackie woke up this morning following multiple procedures yesterday and able to recognise people around which is a good sign.

Thank you all for your support and generosity in helping Jackie, Nathan, Malcom and Lauryn. Jackie had multiple surgeries today but still under ICU. Lauryn also had surgeries in both her arms but was still having some pain in her knees so she had further investigations today and will have a scan tomorrow. Nathan had severe Traumatic brain injury and under monitoring and several tests. Malcom condition is currently improving.
