    Story

After more than 3 years fighting an aggressive form of children's cancer, Jacob passed away at the age of 5 1/2 on 9th December 2017. He loved to visit Marks Hall. His bench will provide a place for quiet reflection, as family and friends sit and remember our dearly loved grandson. Despite his arduous hospital treatment, Jacob was known for his lovely smile. We hope this place will help others smile in memory of him.

Thanks to the kind hearted generosity of donors, an order has now been placed with Marks Hall Estate for Jacob's Bench. We hope it will be in place in about two months time. When we took this photo last summer we didn't think that this is something we might do one day.

We're so pleased to have reached our fundraising target thanks to the generosity of our donors. As monies are still being received, we will be keeping this page open until Sunday 4th March, the day after we plant a tree in memory of Jacob at Marks Hall Gardens. Futher donations will be sent to the charity Spread a Smile, who did so much for Jacob during his 3 year battle with cancer at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
