My name is Jake Waldie and I have a once in a lifetime chance to travel to Kenya on a twenty-eight day, charity expedition.

Having previously completed an expedition to Peru during the summer of 2016, I have been inspired to further my contribution to those who are less fortunate than myself. I had the chance to go to Peru with a company called Camps International and thoroughly enjoyed every minute, from the five day trek to get to Machu Picchu (one of the wonders of the world) to putting in hours of gruelling work to help build a nursery for the local children in Madrigal village. When the opportunity came around for me to travel to Kenya with the same company, I wasn't ever going to turn it down.

During my time in Kenya I will be involved with a number of different tasks to help communities overcome significant issues they face including access to clean water, education and housing. I will be travelling to a number of locations in Kenya where Camps International feel like they, along with volunteers like myself, can make a huge difference to the locals way of life.

I will not only be doing charity work whilst I am within Kenya. Along with all the charity work, I will also have a few days scuba diving to relax from the intense work that I will be taking part in.
