Jake has asbergers , he is a lovely and caring boy with a heart of gold . As jake gets older he has become more and more withdrawn into his own world. At the beginning of 2017 Jake tried to take his own life , things hit an all time low and Jake was on suicide watch For several months . Jake has not been to school for nearly a year and has only left the house on a handful of occasions to make doctors appointments . He totally withdrew from life and his anxiety was so crippling it has stopped him mixing with anyone . Jake has had a year of recovering and is on various medications to help with this . To say the last year has been awful is a understatement ! Jake hit a low again and we became concerned again for his safety . out of the blue a few days ago , Jake told me he would love to visit America for his 18th birthday , which is April 2018 . Jake has met a girl through the powers of the internet and been friends for a year , katie has similar issues and lives in America , this would be life changing for both of them . This filled my world with happiness as for the first time Jake had talked about a future event and not about killing himself .. as a mother it lifted my world . We do not have funds to enable to take him on this trip , and I would do anything to take him , is could finally be the start of a recovery for Jake and give him the boost he needs to kickstart his life again . I don't ask for anything in life , but to see Jake have a focus to look forward to could save his life .
