Update 08/12/17: Thanks to everyone's generosity, we have met our current goal of £200 within the first day! Let's continue to give and aim higher towards our new goal of £500.

As you may be aware, earlier this year Jalikatu passed away. She was a wonderful, bright, and funny person. She was a cherished friend to many in the 1509 nursing cohort at DeMontfort University, and a beloved wife and mother. Many in the cohort have approached and asked for this collection to be set up.

This Christmas will mark the first time that the family will not spend with Jalikatu. We wish to invite you to donate money towards supporting the family this holiday season. The aim is to present this gift to the family before Christmas day, to support the children as our way of showing that we care.

As some of you may remember, Jalikatu was a highly driven nursing student, who was looking forward to qualifying as a nurse, and caring for others. Yet, even in her short time with us, she has touched many hearts with her kindheartedness, warmth and easy-going demeanour. Her husband I am sure will be doing all he can to make the most of this Christmas for their 3 children. Please help us to support him through these difficult times.

Any donation given would certainly be much appreciated and unexpected as the family does not know that this Christmas gift is coming their way. We hope that this small charity will brighten their mood this Christmas time, even if it cannot replace an unforgettable woman. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
