Story
Please help support 5 local Scouts from Reigate 30th who have been successful at being chosen to represent Surrey at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in America in the Summer of 2019.
The theme for the Jamboree is Unlock a New World.
This will embrace the new adventures, cultures and friendships that will be shared by 45000 like-minded Scouts from around the world during the 12 day event in North America, a continent often referenced as a “New World.”
As Scouts from around the world embark on their adventure to North America, they may encounter obstacles that seem to be locked with no solution. However, during their time at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, Scouts will seek answers and solutions to international questions and problems. Together, they will search for ways to unlock a new world, even if it means forging their own keys.
In addition to participating in the Jamboree the Scouts will also be visiting Canada and participating in various community projects.
The Scouts will leave with a wider view of the world, a deeper understanding of North America, and a renewed commitment to Scouting as a whole. When Scouts join together to Unlock a New World, they give themselves the chance to start over as members of the global community and to work together for mutual gains that improve everyone’s situation. It will be a life changing experience that will provide confidence and understanding of different cultures from around the world.
This fantastic opportunity however comes at cost and each scout needs to raise £2995 to attend the Jamboree. This money will also help to pay for a scout, from another country to attend who otherwise would not have the funds to be at the World Scout Jamboree.
If you are inspired by the potential of the World Scout Jamboree to enhance and develop the skills of the next generation, we invite you to contribute to our fundraising by making a donation.
Thank-you
