Story
This is for the Simpson family - Mandi and her husband Dave have two young kids, Niamh and Ruari.
Since being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in early 2015, it has become impossible for Mandi to do the stuff we all take for granted. As this awful condition rapidly worsens, she has now completely lost the use of her legs and her arms are becoming increasingly weaker by the day making her ability to get around and do normal tasks a thing of the past.
As well working full time in order to support his family financially, Dave has had to become Mandi’s carer and take on many of the things Mandi can no longer do as a mum. What spare time he does have is spent working on their house to make it more suitable for Mandi. All of this has a massive impact on the quality time and memory making that should be the norm for a young family.
A bunch of good friends of this lovely family have decided to get together to help raise some money for all the essential things they need to function together as normally as possible.
The money raised will go towards the huge costs involved in constantly adapting their home as Mandi’s condition worsens and to try and give them the opportunity to make some memories while they still can.
Please do give generously if you can and please do continue to donate even if we do get close to or over our target as any excess will be donated to The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
MNDA is a wonderful charity which provides so much valuable support to people living with MND as well as driving the research into finding a treatment for this incredibly cruel disease.
