    Story

The past 18 months have been extremely difficult for everyone, with gyms closing and people losing their jobs/income etc and I can put my hand up and admit that I REALLY struggled. I have undergone tests for Parkinson’s disease and hyperthyroidism due to my struggles with tremors, anxiety and depression. In addition to this my work was also impacted as a result of the pandemic, and I hit rock bottom at the start of 2021. I’m not proud to admit this but with all of my physical and mental struggles I did the “guy thing” and bottled it all up and hoped it would go away, but it didn’t, it made everything worse. I attempted the unthinkable and have since learned that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Since then, I have come across an organisation called “blOKes”, which was founded by a member of the rugby community, and targets all men but in particular guys with a passion for sports under the age of 45. (Suicide is the single biggest killer in men under 45 – Samaritans 2020) https://www.blokes.life/

Over the past year I have used their platform on a number of occasions and can’t thank them enough for the support, guidance and understanding they have showed me. So, I want to help give them something back, whilst at the same time raising awareness of suicide prevention by getting men to open up and talk.

Here’s where I need you, to take part in the Wolf run will cost you £60 and you will need to log in and join my “Wolf Pack” using the code number 657150be – Once you have joined my pack I would appreciate it if you could Like, Share or Contribute to the “blOKes” JustGiving page on your social channels. I am no longer on social media but am aware that once you, friends or family have made a donation it can be shared to raise awareness. Ideally, I am looking for a minimum of around 10 people to join me on the run in the hope that we can all raise just £50 each, allowing me to make a donation of £500 to “blOKes” allowing them to carry on doing their amazing work.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and if you would like to join me on this, please contact me on 07570779617 where I have created a WhatsApp group for updates etc.
