    Story

My Wife Gina Fisher, a healthy and very active woman, who was also my Carer full time, collapsed in a shop in our town Corby Northants on 20.08.2016 she was aged 56. She was rushed to Northampton General Hospital. After a CT Scan, it was discovered she had heavy bleeding to the brain and a ruptured aneurysm. She was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. In the early hours of the morning, I received a call from the Hospital that Gina was taken for another CT Scan but went unconcious. The hospital had to put her in an induced coma. Throughout the night, surgeons fought hard to save her life. They said her head was filling with both blood and cerebral fluid from the spine. Gina underwent brain surgery, after the surgeon discovered the aneurysm was 15mm in size. Furthermore, they also had to insert a stent into her brain to help stop a re-bleed. Today she is wheelbound at Beechwood Rehabilitation Suite in Wellingborough. Gina has no movement on the left side of her body. Although she is able to slightly raise her left leg for ten seconds at a time. She will never have any movement in her arm or hand. At present, Gina thinks of herself as being of no good anymore and becomes very tearful. She will need as much support as possible. Gina cannot propel a wheelchair on her own and will need the fullest care. I am her husband and I am also disabled. I will be unable to push her in a wheelchair or be able to give her all the support she will need apart from my love and attention. I am raising, to help buy her an electric wheelchair, so she can regain some of her own independence. I also wish to be able to provide her with essential aids that will help make her life easier. Please help my Wife to gain some of her own independence and mobility again. Thank you

I had a goal setting meeting along with Gina, Nurses, Physio and Occupational Therapists on Thursday. Everything went well. The team has decided to allow Gina to come home for a few hours next week at some point to see how she copes. Following this, she will return home permanent when Beechwood get a Care Package in place for her.
