Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Myself and a small group of other students from my sixth form will be spending our summer 2018 volunteering in Tanzania. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to help children in a very deprived part of the world. Whilst there we'll be helping in local hospitals, orphanages, primary and secondary schools. In order to maximise the work we do whilst in Tanzania, we are aiming to raise a total of £1800 per student and we need the help from as many people as possible to reach this substantial target. Any donations, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated and can be made through my Just Giving page found at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/james-mcdowell or by direct donations to myself. I would like to thank you for your generosity in helping us to positively impact the lives of those not as fortunate as ourselves.
James McDowell. (p.s. from his Dad I vowed never to run 13 miles again! any donation is much appreciated)

I'm a student at Thornleigh sixth form studying maths, physics and history. Next summer I will be traveling to Tanzania to help in the local schools and hospitals. I know it's an experience I'll never forget.
