Weʼve raised £1,456 to raise money for my local school to buy a greenhouse and outdoor fitness equipment for the kids. I'm climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in January.

Story
Government funding often doesn't cover the extra things that a state school such as Heyhouses needs to buy for extra curricular activities. I know from personal experience that an interest in sports and outdoor activities can help steer children away from bad choices as well as encourage a healthy lifestyle and that good habits are formed from a young age.
I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in January to raise money to buy an outdoors 'Fitness Playground' for the children of Heyhouses as well as a Greenhouse for them to grow their own vegetables. I am self-financing the trip to Tanzania as a personal contribution and every penny donated will go towards the equipment for the school.
I am hoping that my climb will inspire the children of Heyhouses Primary School in Lytham St Annes and that the great British public will help us fund this project to support and help them on their journey.

4 years agoMany thanks to everyone who donated, as promised all monies raised are going to the school but for obvious reasons spending the money is a challenge at the present time. We have earmarked a quality greenhouse and a digital camera for purchase as soon as the lockdown is lifted.

I'm a 45 year old father trying to raise money for my sons school. We often hear the mantra that kids need to be active and spend more time outside but often the things they need to do this are not within school budgets.
