    Story

Our run is on Sunday 22nd July 2018 and we will be starting from APSLEY LOCK MARINA and following the Grand Union Canal right into CAMDEN LOCK LONDON (37 miles in total). We will all be taking part in the entire distance together and hope we can clock up a respectable time!

We are doing this because everyday we are very lucky to be privileged with access to unlimited clean water.. Unfortunately, their are still children out there who do not have access to any clean water. Most of us are aware of Waterborne diseases, including Cholera, Typhoid, and Dysentery which are caused by drinking water containing infectious viruses or bacteria that often come from human or animal waste. Water-washed diseases, such as skin and eye infections, are caused by lack of clean water for washing.

By you donating to our crowdfunding page you will be helping children who benefit from these selected charities.

We will be running from Hemel Hempstead (Hertfordshire) into London. We are all currently training extra long hours for this event around our work and life commitments to ensure that we are ready. This event has taken months to plan and prepare for physically and will be a true test of our endurance. Thank you for reading about our challenge and please read below to learn little bit more about the charities and the brilliant work they do and how your donations can help.

    About Water Aid:

Right now, some of the world’s poorest and most marginalised people don’t have clean water to drink, decent toilets or hygiene. Without these basics, overcoming poverty is just a dream.

But when you help us to dig a well or install a tap stand in a community, you change the lives of children

Today one in nine people are still living without clean water close to home. But your support could help change everything for a community – in a single day.

WaterAid has teams in 34 countries across the world, working with our partners to transform millions of lives every year by improving access to clean water, toilets and hygiene. And since 1981, we’ve reached 24.9 million people with clean water.
