    Story

In 2006 my father rescued gorgeous german shepherd called ben, he was beaten by there previous owners and lost all trust humans so much so he was like a wild animal who wouldnt let you touch him, me and my father nurtured him and slowly he began to trust, and one evning he plucked up the courage to come into the house and sit with us after two weeks of only wanting to sleep in the garden shed. 2yrs on and he had changed alot and was happy loving dog but still scared of strangers and busy places. Then due to life being hard my dad fell ill with depression and needed medical care and i took on ben full time, we visited dad every other day and took ben for a walk which helpd dad recover, ben‘s rehabilitation stoped improving, so i decided to get him a mate in the hope it will give him a boost, which is when i rescued lucy from a dysfunctional home, bennie boy fell in love with lucy the moment he met her, he couldnt believe his luck and lucy became his world and gave him confidence to walk gently through busy places and say hello to people he didnt know, bennie boy was now the happy content dog we hoped he would be. Dad had recoverd and was able to live again but not able to cope with ben as he was still a bit wild when he chose to be, we decided i would keep ben and lucy and breed from them to give dad a puppy that would be trouble free and help dad with every day life. Few months later and lucy had ten pups, and dad got benji his new pup from our bennie boy and lucy lou. Our plan had worked and benji was perfect for dad and they did everything together. few yrs later and i had to move and couldnt have dogs in a small flat, dad took on all 3 dogs and did brilliantly with them, tho unfortunatly a bad neighbour caused dad problems and dads mental health took a hit, he ended up moving to yorkshire without telling anyone.I didnt know where they was living or have any contact. This was nearly two yrs ago and on 11th november 2017 i got a call to say dad is in hospital. I was at work at the time and i dropped everything and drove straight up to yorkshire from london to see dad and find the dogs, after endless phone calls i had tracked down the dogs in some kennels. When i got there i had shock of my life to only find benji and lucy, they had been in kennels since feb and in march bennie boy had been put to sleep, his back legs and gone and he past away without me or dad by his side, something i will never get over, poor lucy and benji was heartbroken just as i was and two dogs normally full of life had nothing in them, i brought them home and stayed by there side 24/7 after endless tears and cuddles they are now happy again tho i can tell there is still something lost inside of them, benji became lucy’s rock and i belive he kept her alive after the death of bennie boy. This tragic story has hurt me in many ways and i now have to change my life around to be able to have the dogs live with me. Everyday i think of them feeling abandoned and how sad they must have been. Ive done some reasearch and cases like this happen to dogs everyday where there owners for whatever reason cant look after them either for a short while or indefinatly. This has had a big affect on me and the only thing i want to do with rest of my life is to set up nice clean comfy dog kennels to help dogs in similar situations, so i can give them love cuddles walks food and comfy beds untill there owners return. I dont want money in my pocket just the kennels for the dogs that are in need and spendevery day helping dogs in bennies honour. I will take in any dog from any situation and make sure they are cared for, with the help from lucy and benji i belive we can do great things for dogs that need it the most and hopefully mend our broken hearts. If you have any money you can give it will all go to build the best kennels to help these dogs and any other pets that live with them, i will be named bennies kennels and bennie boy will be the hero that made this happen.

RIP Bennie Boy, your missed so much but never forgoten xxx
