Sponsored Bike Ride! To help fund my expedition to India, I am cycling from Eastbourne to Hayes (63 hilly miles). I have only ridden a bike to do my paper round, so this is going to be a big challenge!

In July I will be part of a team of students from Hayes School, travelling via Delhi, up to the Himalayas. In a mountain village we will be working with local people building a greenhouse for the community. We start by constructing the walls, and while they are drying for several days, we will go trekking. The trek will take us through remote valleys and mountains at a very high altitude. Each night we will be camping under the stars. On our return to the village, we will fit the beams and plastic sheeting onto the greenhouse, and finally paint the walls to aid heat retention. It is going to be a tough project, but it will benefit the locals tremendously, by enabling them grow a plentiful and sustainable supply of fruit and vegetables.
