    Story

I am passionate about sharing, teaching and empowering staff working in challenging environments, providing them with relaxation techniques and the skills and understanding to deliver the nurturing touch rainbow routine of Functional Reflex Therapy to the young people they are caring for and working with.
Following a week of teaching and practical guiding, staff will have the skills and confidence to work with the young people to deliver the lovely structured routine both within the classroom and in the residential setting at St Mulumba.
The funds raised will support our visit to provide all staff with FRT training, with all resources, a tabard, symbols, photos and pictures which help to communicate the session and the routine, which help pupils with communication issues. Staff will be using the FRT tool kit to keep resources together and again support communication, providing objects of reference.
The school will be encouraged to retain their link with the Functional Reflex Therapy Network for ongoing contact and support and create links with other schools who are using the FRT rainbow relaxation routine in their environment.
Using the FRT rainbow relaxation routine supports emotional wellbeing. It encourages the receiver to feel better about themselves, help improve their mood and may encourage a reduction in high levels of stress and anxiety. It is as relaxing for the giver as the receiver so supportive for everyone involved.
Any extra funds will be donated to the school for equipment of their choosing and we will share the information in our feedback report to all our donators and supporters.

it was a 5k that I won't forget ( neither will my knees !!). I would like to thank the man who stopped me on the way to the station to ask if I wanted a lift, the man on the bike who shouted good luck and the Russian lady on the platform who fixed my hat whilst we talked about Moscow and our sons. all strangers but all showing that there are great people out there. I saw thousands of others all the same and it was such a great atmosphere. Very proud to have got my medal. thank you to everyone who has sponsored me.

week 2 of the training and Charlie now associates his medicine with his longest walk/ run/ stagger ever ! we both shake with the anticipation of the run - even though our coach on the app tells us 'we love running' !! Wow it's challenging but it will be worth it.
