    Story

We support young people aged 16-18 years of age who have either been put into care or taken into care by social services. some of the young people we look after have learning difficulties, some are from a gang background. Others have been abused and some have been neglected. When society asks why these kids hang around on the streets and get into gangs and start misbehaving in the community, when asked to a young person they will tell you there bored or people in the community look at them as if they are trouble to why disappoint them i will be what they see me as. I want to give these young people a different look at life in that they can be apart of the community. I believe the same way it takes a family to raise a child it also take a community to raise a family. The young people feel the community has disowned them and they do not feel apart of anything. We are the ones that have to give our young people an identity otherwise it will be the bad things in life that seems to find them and train them in how they should act. These young people have been abandoned, abused, neglected, hurt, scared and they never asked for it. They want to feel needed, loved, valued, appreciated, admired, respected, worthwhile but all to often they are stereotyped into a box and judged before anyone gets to know who they are. It's been said a child is a product of their environment so i dream of creating an environment that is conducive in creating greatness in our young people as they are our next generation and if we cannot lend a hand in crafting this generation our little ones will grow up in a community that is so despondent and far from the meaning of being a community.

my passion is to see change in our young people and it first starts with us saying I will support, I will help, I will encourage. our young people are dying all around us and I believe it's time for us to come together as a community showing them another way forward.
