Story
Teddy20 began in 2009, with a charity cricket match organised by Ted's father Owen Newton. He called upon the cricketing community of Blandford, Dorset, to support him in raising money for CLIC Sargent, a charity that supports children living with cancer, Kingfisher Ward in Dorchester, Piam Brown Ward in Southampton and Bone Cancer Research Trust.
The overwhelming success of the event, which raised £10,000, inspired Owen and his family to found Teddy20. From then on, the charity has continued to grow and organises fundraising balls, challenges and, of course, Teddy Rocks Festival!
One of Teddy20's main projects is Ted's Shack, a holiday home in Weymouth for children undergoing cancer treatment. It was launched in 2015 and has since provided well-needed breaks and a chance to create treasured memories for many families.
Every year, Teddy20 runs a Christmas Toy Collection, where volunteers head to Toys R Us to buy presents for children in the Kingfisher Ward and the Piam Brown Ward. This yearly tradition makes a huge difference to the children battling cancer.
Every penny raised from Teddy Rocks Festival goes to Teddy20, to fund projects like these.
