Story
Phil battled myeloma for almost 14 years and has had most of his treatment and care on the chemo unit at the University Hospital. They are currently raising money to enlarge and improve their cancer treatment facilities, providing a more welcoming environment for patients undergoing chemotherapy. It is a fabulous unit with an amazing team of doctors and nurses and we will be eternally grateful for the care and compassion that Phil received there.
Over the years he had also had several admissions to St Cuthberts Hospice which is where Phil spent his final few hours and died peacefully and with dignity , being cared for in a beautiful, peaceful environment by a fantastic team of nurses and doctors.
We would like to raise money for both of these charities as they are very close to our hearts, and we have decided to raise money in lieu of flowers in Phil’s memory.
