Story
Bilagal is a remote village in the forest part of Cameroon with 500 inhabitants divided in 3 hamlets. People living in this village have no access neither to clean water nor to electricity.Children have to wake up at 4am in the morning in order to attend a primary school located 25miles from the village.People who want to express their faith have to cover the same distance to enter a chapel/church.
But there’s a problem
To implement such projects in a village without any political sponsor is impossible in the context of Cameroon today. That is the case of Bilagal where 99% of inhabitants are villagers and live in the village. Therefore how people who are very poor, marginalised and without financial assets can improve their lives?. The only way to help those people have access to basic needs is to appeal for people charity.
Here’s what we’re doing about it
Some years ago I managed , thanks to my own savings,to build a clean water well and had one out of three hamlet electrified. Still in 2016 most of them do not know what clean water or electricity means. They use water from stream to cook and drink and oil lamp for lighting.Children at the age of 5 have to cover 25miles every day to attend school. Helping to build a primary school, a chapel, wells and electrification will bring unthinkable changes in those people lives.
You can join us
In 2008 I spent £5,000 to build a clean water well and £3,000 to get one hamlet electrified. These amounts have to be multiplied by 2 (the remaining hamlets) and up dated. So £20,000 at least are needed in order to implement these projects. The money will help to by raw materials and pay labour. Join me in order to transform these people lives. I relay on your goodwill and humanism.]
