Story
My sisters and I are hosting a big costume show event in Glasgow on the 29th of July to raise money for the British Liver Trust. All money raised on the night, or in donations before hand, will go to the trust. We are doing this in memory of our dear friend, Sheona Lockhart, who passed away at the delicate age of 24 due to liver failure.
The show is a catwalk show full of wonderful costumes and characters, all of which were designed and made at the Edinburgh College of Art, the institution in which we all trained. Including Sheona. Sheona used to model for us in these shows, so it only seemed appropriate to mark her 5 year passing with this sort of event!
We would really appreciate any help you can give us towards running the show. This will go into staging, van hire, models, venue hire, lighting and sound and any promotion. Anything left over will go straight into the charity fund for the trust. We are doing this purely to support this charity and would love it if anyone can spare a few pennies to help!
We want to make this a show to remember and give us the best chance to raise as much money as we can for the trust on the night.
A bit about liver disease:
Liver disease is the only major cause of death still increasing year – on –year.
Twice as many people now die from liver disease as in 1991.
Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC)
• PSC is an uncommon chronic liver disease and is frequently associated with inflammation of the colon – the cause of the major operation in 2011 from which she never recovered.
• A damaged liver can re-grow without scarring, but in PSC the re-growth goes wrong and the healing process is incomplete resulting in cirrhosis.
• PSC is not related to alcohol or drugs in any way, and at present there is no known cure.
• AIH is one cause of chronic hepatitis and although relatively uncommon, it can be one of the most sever forms.

7 years agoI was overwhelmed with the support. I am able to send the left over donations to the Liver Trust so thanks so so much to everyone. We all had a blast and you enabled us to raise £5000 PROFIT on the night. This has all been donated and it was the perfect way to pay a special tribute to our gorgeous, much missed, friend. Thank you so much xxx

I met Sheona Lockhart when studying at the Edinburgh College of Art. My sisters and I were all training to be costume designers. In putting on this show we are re-visiting a time where we were all together, doing the things that we loved.
