I am a lifelong hedgehog lover, but writing 'Alex Sparrow and the Furry Fury' has really highlighted to me how at risk our beautiful British hedgehogs are. As well as using Furry Fury to raise awareness about our gorgeous prickly friends, I really want to raise enough money to buy an incubator for Poppy's Creche - an amazing organisation that takes in sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs, fixes them up and releases them back into the wild. They are overwhelmed with hoglet arrivals and a new incubator is greatly needed. I am going to take on a challenge each week over the summer - if you have any suggestions for cruel trials to put me through, please feel free to make suggestions. Week one: running 5k every day for seven days from Monday 31st July. I haven't run for months, so this will be tough, and I shall tweet my progress. Please donate whatever you can.
