Hello! My name is Amy, I am 16 an Explorer Scout and Young Leader. I am very proud to have been selected from my scouting district to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019 with the Surrey contingent! To acheive this I took part in a selection camp weekend where participants were judged by a senior panel and there was tough competion to win a place. We were challenged to work really hard doing camp site maintenance and various other activities including team tasks, map work and public speaking.It was really fun and hard work at the same time! and I made lots of new friends.

I have been working hard to start raising money for the fees that will also help to cover the money needed to send scouts from poorer and disadvantaged countries to the Jamboree. I have held homemade craft stalls at christmas markets and a quiz night so far and i am also putting money from my weekend job into the pot.

My next challenge is to climb the mountain Ben Nevis in Scotland with my Explorer Scout

Group in the summer of 2018.In summer 2017 I climbed Mt Snowdon in Wales with my Explorer Scout group which i found very challenging and said i never want to see another mountain again!! But this year I have decided to push my boundaries and climb an even bigger and taller mountain with encouragement from my leader, and I would like people to sponsor me to do this to raise much needed jamboree funds!

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles. It is located in the Grampian mountains in the Lochaber area of Scotland,close to the town of Fort William. Its height/elevation is 1,345m (4,413ft). The average time to climb it is between 3.5-5 hours!!

My family are working really hard by helping me make things to sell and organising fundraising events with me. I would never be able to experience this kind of life changing trip without their and my scout groups support, so please help me on my scouting journey to the USA by sponsoring me to climb that mountain!!!
