Please help me to raise the money I need to be able to buy myself a special wheelchair.

I live in my own home with support from a team of carers. I can't walk, stand, balance , dress or feed myself and I have limited use of my right hand, basically I suppose I could say I am "trapped in a body that does not work" ... but ...there is nothing wrong with my mind !

There is so much I want to do with my life. I'm passionate about writing plays and scripts and I'd love to have my work performed in public. I want to get out and explore the world and be part of everything.

I want to be as active and independent as I can be but it is hard when I don't have a wheelchair that is both comfortable and reliable.

I have complex physical problems which include a dislocated left hip and scoliosis of my spine, which is addition to having severe cerebral palsy - I was born 3 months too soon and it kind of went wrong from there on !!

Whilst the NHS has tried to provide a chair for me their funds are limited and they can’t provide what I actually need. My existing chair is not comfortable and can’t be easily adjusted, it does not support my dislocated hip or legs comfortably and breaks down regularly. Every time it breaks down I am not able to go anywhere , I’m stuck indoors for days , sometimes weeks, until it is fixed (and then it breaks again !) Even when the chair is working I can’t drive it independently because of the way it turns and the poorly designed controls. I have to rely on help from my carers, which I hate!

I get so frustrated and depressed, it is hard enough having to accept the limitations of my body without having to deal with the limitations of a wheelchair that hurts and gives me even more pain than I already have !!

I really want to be as independent as I can be. Having a wheelchair that is designed in every way for my specific needs will give me comfort, confidence and an ability to get out in the world and do so much more with my life. .

The chair I hope to get can offer me everything I need and more! As well as being able to improve my posture and comfort, it is compact, turns in small spaces, is fully and easily adjustable and even allows me to raise myself up so that I am at the same height as if I was walking along!

The company who make this chair is called Permobil Ltd and they have supplied chairs to people like Stephen Hawkin and also Meghan Markel's sister!, so I know they are a good reliable company.

This chair is very expensive. I wish I could use just any wheelchair .... it would be a lot cheaper ! ....but I can't! I need a chair that is built specifically for me. One that will accommodate my wonky body ! and support me in the right places. One that has a seating system that will help to reduce the pain that I currently have to put up with every day and lastly, one that will not breakdown every week !
