Jenson is a bright and happy 7 year old. He was born nearly 3 months early and suffered many medical issues including brain damage which has resulted in him having Quadrapleigic Cerebral Palsy. Jenson wasn't expected to be able to do much but we knew he was a fighter and have, with the support or family and friends, funded privaye physio therapy to help him. When Jenson started therapy at just over 2 years old he couldn't hold his head up and was like a 2month old baby, now he is learning how to support his own weight and take some steps with assistance. Jenson can now hold his head up high and smile that cheeky smile.
Jenson currently has 2 physio sessions a week at a cost of £180 a week and we try to increase this through the school holidays or when he has a growth spurt. This not only helps with his progress in his physical abilities but more importantly this is how his pain from the spacticity is managed, the more therapy and stretching he has the less pain he is in. We are raising money to help increase his therapy through the school holidays so he can continue to work on standing transfers (where we move him from a chair to bed ect) this will help Jenson when he gets older to be independent and will take some of the physical strain off our backs as he is getting bigger. As with all children Jenson is getting bigger and along side the cost of therapy we also have started to have to replace various pieces of equipment that is used in his therapy as he has outgrown them so the money will also go towards this.
