So many of you won't know that I'm pregnant and there's a reason for that, we found out around 10weeks and went for a scan and some potential issues showed up and after our quad test came back it was clear something wasn't quite right, we were offered amniocentesis and an in depth scan which we accepted. This revealed that our baby (a little boy) had some problems with his brain and we were sent for an MRI, after this we also got our second lot of amniocentesis results (the first came back fine) this showed that our little boy has a rare syndrome called cri du chat as well as multiple other issues meaning he will have very severe disabilities and no real quality of life. We were informed he would have low life expectancy, multiple organ problems/failure, extreme difficulty feeding, will have very delayed speech and ability to walk if ever, be in a lot of constant pain and need regular hospital treatment and a lot of extra care. After discussions with the geneticist we have made the incredibly heartbreaking decision to terminate our pregnancy as we don't think it is fair that our baby continues to suffer as his condition is already deteriorating and we also don't think it is fair on Thomas and Lydia either, it is not something we have decided on lightly, we are absolutely devastated and we now just want to prepare ourselves to say goodbye and give him the best send off we can and that is where we are asking for your help. As I am just over half way in my pregnancy I have to give birth to our little boy and have to go through an awful ordeal in the process but we want to make sure he is remembered as an important part of our family and have a funeral to remember him and a place to visit with our family.
