Story
Many of you will know that a few years back our Jim decided to start growing his beard and that it would go with the launch of the Visitect CD4 test.
Well with the CE marking of the device confirmed Jim has decided to let you all decide on the fate of his beard.
All of the money raised will be donated to a charity called Baphumelele (http://baphumelele.org.za/) who work with vulnerable/orphaned children and young adults with chronic diseases and HIV/Aids. They are based within the township of Khayelitsha around 20 kilometers southeast of Cape Town.
Khayelitsha is home to almost 1,000,000 residents and is one of the most poverty stricken townships in South Africa. There are an estimated 14,000 orphans in Khayelitsha (the majority as a result of the Aids epidemic) with up to 40% of expectant mothers being HIV positive.
