It's looking unlikely that I will be able to have my eggs saved. I'm over the age where the NHS will do this for me and I would need to pay (a rather large) amount of money in order for my eggs to be extracted, frozen and stored.

Anyone who knows me knows that I had always hoped and dreamed of having my own child one day. So the news of this now not being an option has completely knocked me for six and I am quite honestly struggling to come to terms with it. I know there are other options available to me in the future but the thought of there never being a mini me has upset me more than the cancer diagnosis. Although saying that having a mini me may be more than the world can handle anyway!

I'm still generally positive though and trying to 'keep my chin up' but it is hard when you hear the news that you will never be able to have your own biological child, especially as that was what I have wanted since I was a child myself.
