On 23rd April 2018 Lees life changed forever. After suffering neck pain for a few weeks, visiting the doctors and hospital for this pain he woke up at 4:00 am in agony and unable to move his arms and legs, at 9:45 am that day his body shut down, he went into cardiac arrest. We have now learned he suffered a bleed on his spine everything from the neck down is paralysed completely, this was without accident or trauma a complete freak unexplained incident. For 12 weeks Lee was unable to speak or eat. He can't breath move or do anything for himself. He has been told this is likely to be permanent. There is hope to improve his quality of liability with rehabilitation in a specialist spinal unit in Sheffield but it is a waiting game for bed space, he is now 155 days in ICU at the LGI we are no clearer as to when a bed will become free. His sons who live with him are 15 & 17 they also had their lives turned upside down, left with insecurity of what their own future will be, where will they live?, who will they live with? what's going to happen to their dad?, how will they be supported financially? For now friends and family have lived with the boys in their home with their dog booboo, it has been extremely difficult for them all to adjust to the major changes. We are hopeful that modifications can be made to Lee's home to enable him to come home to his family it is now in the hands of surveyors and planning permission. A fundraising night has been organised by Lees close friends for the 9th November at Swarcliffe Working Mens club, the cost of the ticket is £20 the ticket is also a raffle ticket where you have a chance to win some amazing prizes.
